Oxide, often called colour thru, is used to provide permanent, full depth colouring to concrete, cement, mortars, and even asphalt. One of the main benefits of integrally colouring concrete is that if the surface of the concrete wears, there is little to no variation in colour as the concrete is fully coloured. Oxides are added at the time of batching the concrete and are normally supplied in pre portioned bags to dose one cubic meter of concrete. The bags are water sensitive and disintegrate when as they are mixed into the concrete leaving no bags or waste to dispose of.
